Even though comfort doesn't mandate it, we plan to use these fins in a whitewater river section, and will therefore have neoprene booties with rubber soles underneath for protection from rocks and possible walking in the river. It took us several tries to get the right size, so we are including our personal information below to help you purchase the right size if you are also planning to wear neoprene underneath. (We could not find any swim fins that would accomodate our Salomon XA Pro racing shoes.)

Rebecca's regular shoe size: Women's size 9. Surf II swim fins size XL when used with neoprene booty that has a rubber sole.

Dan's regular shoe size: Men's size 10 1/2. Surf II swim fins size XL (with neoprene booty in the size XL but not a booty with rubber sole.)
